Frequently asked questions

1. Are your chickens processed in a government-inspected facility?

Yes. All of our chickens are processed in a provincially inspected processing facility, ensuring they are handled safely and meet Ontario food safety standards.

2. How much do your chickens cost?

Our whole chickens are $6.00 per pound. Since every bird is unique, final pricing is based on the individual weight at processing. Most chickens weigh between 4 and 7 pounds.

3. Why do I need to pay a deposit?

A $20 deposit reserves your chicken(s) and allows us to plan processing accurately. Your deposit is applied toward your final purchase price at pickup.

4. Can I request a specific size?

Absolutely. If you prefer a smaller or larger bird, let us know when placing your order. While we can't guarantee an exact weight, we'll do our best to match your preference.

5. When and where do I pick up my order?

Pickup dates and times will be announced before processing. Customers will receive instructions by email or phone with pickup details.

6. How are the chickens packaged?

Our chickens come whole and are securely packaged in heavy-duty, food-grade plastic bags directly by our processor. On processing day, they are fresh and chilled (not frozen). If you'd like to cut up or further process your chicken at home, we recommend picking it up that day. For all later pickup dates, chickens will be frozen whole to ensure the highest quality.

7. Can I have my chicken cut up?

Yes! Our chickens can be cut into 6 pieces by the processor for an additional $6 per bird. Simply select this option when ordering.
